Baldwin EMC representatives paid visits to some of Baldwin County's local high schools last month. And fortunately for a handful of lucky teachers, they came bearing gifts.
The co-op presented awards to the teachers who sponsored the winning students from their respective high schools in Baldwin EMC's Youth Tour program. The prize was educational materials for their classrooms which the teachers were allowed to choose.
The winning teachers were: Kim Baer and Susanne Mahone from Daphne High School, Nelda Reichley from Gulf Shores High School, Julie Hershey from Robertsdale High School, and Gail Cates from Spanish Fort High School.
Baldwin EMC's Youth Tour is a scholarship program that also gives local high-school students an all-expense paid educational trip to our state and nation's capitols. The students visited Montgomery in March, and will head for Washington, D.C. in June.
